Zealotry. That's what it was. A misguided obsession. I mistook for love. If I opened my eyes....would they still bleed tears. If I could take it back....those words. My heart took the brunt of the impact. I hit bottom hard.

'Why do you write?' they ask me. How do I explain that writing to me is like dripping my blood on a page? I write about sorrow, and pain, and unrequited love. I tell stories that have sat fermenting in my brain since primary school. And every time I stroke a key, or lift a pen a soft, hissing voice tells me I am wrong. There is no joy here. No sanctuary. No relief from the pain inside from the trillions of tiny cuts that make the blood to form the words.
